Angry Birds landed on iPhones in 2009 and sold 12 million copies in its first year, smashing App Store records and hooking players worldwide with the sheer simpleness of the game which featured birds being catapulted at structures in an attempt to defeat the antagonistic pigs. Angry Birds was so successful that it launched an entire franchise of branded spin-offs, a feature film (Rio) and even a collaboration with Star Wars and Transformers. Another series featuring the porcine enemies was also made in form of Bad Piggies. For many iPhone owners, Angry Birds became a must-have app as players compared scores and competed against each other.
