9. Gardevoir
Psychic Ralts - Kirlia - GARDEVOIR Ralts becomes Kirlia at Level 20, Kirlia evolves into Gardevoir at Level 30
Effect: SYNCHRONISE passes on status problems to the opponent that caused the problem I always had trouble saying Gardevoir. It's not even hard to say I was just being a moron. But I still found it to be a sweet Pokémon to train up despite my vocal difficulties with its name. Being a Psychic type, Gardevoir has always been a very popular Pokémon - following on from the likes of Alakazam and Espeon as one of that generation's particularly good Psychic types. Many people are drawn towards the Psychic and Dark type Pokémon because of their seemingly mysterious qualities and blatantly high Special Attack stats and Gardevoir falls into both these attracting categories. Gardevoir's earliest form - Ralts - is fairly easy to acquire at the start of your Hoenn adventure making it a useful base to start your party at the beginning of the Ruby and Sapphire games (you can find Ralts in the grass around Route 102 although it is slightly rarer than your average Wingull or Poochyena). Gardevoir's main move is obviously the Psychic types' flagship move; Psychic. Other useful and powerful moves include Calm Mind which raises Special Attack and Special Defence simultaneously, Hypnosis which is great for catching wild Pokémon and, finally, there's Dream Eater which is one of my favourite moves and also one of the best Psychic type moves available. Teachable TM's come in the form of TM24 which is Thunderbolt and TM30 which is Shadow Ball. Strangely the only Hidden Machine available to Gardevoir is HM05 Flash which is odd for such a powerful Pokémon.
