10 Greatest Video Game Characters Of 2012

2. Vaas - Far Cry 3

Vaas is one of the most challenging antagonists in recent video game history, because despite his sheer savagery - for one, he takes your friends hostage for the slave trade, and on the other hand, he's a murderous psychopath - he's actually extremely entertaining, charismatic, and even somewhat likeable. It crossed a lot of our minds throughout the game that given the trippy tone and the amount of one-on-one face time we get with Vaas that he might actually just be a figment of Jason's own imagination, but then his violent nature and unruly confidence wouldn't really fit Jason's timidity at the start of the game. Gladly Ubisoft didn't resort to such cheap tactics, and instead Vaas is on his own one of the most terrifying and brilliantly insane foes in any video game ever made. One of video game's perfect portrayals of jungle fever, superbly voice and motion-acted by Michael Mando - who reportedly used a messy breakup to fuel the character's anger - Vaas is a villain like no other.
