6. Sigrun, The Valkyrie Queen - God Of War

Hands up. Who sought out the entirety of God of War's various Valkyries, to get the Platinum trophy?

Yeah... that's what I thought.

The sort of side-quest that you'll focus on after the credits roll - just as an excuse to keep playing and exploring - God of War's Valkyries are the nearest the game gets to going "full Dark Souls". Each one comes with a specific moveset and set of powers - alongside health bar-ruiningly effective attacks and finishers, that can very quickly leave Kratos in a crumpled heap.

The Valkyrie Queen though? She's the leader of the pack for a reason.

Having bucketloads of health and easily absorbing even the most high-level attacks, you'll need to stay on the offensive the entire time, whilst also watching out for charging grabs, and a sickeningly annoying move where she leaps out the screen, only to land on you, often killing Kratos and your spirit in the process.

As Sigrun can counter while you're still attacking, the latter leap can happen mid-combo, forcing you to pick and choose precisely when to attack in a bout so intense you just want it to end.
