If there is one creature that could hold the title of the most infamous trap in gaming, it would probably be the mimic from Dark Souls.
Like many other enemies of its type in different games, the Dark Souls mimic is capable of masquerading as a regular treasure chest, completely identical to the real deal.
The mimics usually hide among real chests to make their chances of fooling the player even higher, and if you interact with one, it immediately springs its creepy long arms out and then attempts to swallow you whole.
Its jaws are powerful enough to fully drain even the largest health bar, which is why most veteran players hit their treasure chests before opening them.
