4. Ankheg Baldurs Gate
So youve got your Bastard Sword +1 (tehehe), full plate armour and lovely gang of followers ready to kill the child of the God of Murder? Big deal. Come back when youve faced a pack of Ankheg and survived. These subterranean dung beetles arrive out of nowhere with all manner of pointy bits and burning phlegm. Without the much needed warning of their arrival they have the uncanny ability of arriving at literally the worst time and their powerful attacks mean most low levelled party members are done for. They have ended more than one adventurers quest for revenge, not to mention all the farmers days theyve ruined with their giant holes.
