10 HD Video Game Editions That Are Actually Worth Buying
7. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
What It Contains: Halo: Combat Evolved For those of you that have gotten this far into the article and are still clinging to the belief that nothing is actually upgraded in these HD remakes, and that it's all one money-grubbing scam, 343 Studios has just the game for you. Outside of completely overhauling the graphics of Halo, 343 opted to include a feature that allows you to switch between versions of the game on the fly. With one press of a button, you can switch between the remastered version and the original, allowing you to fully take in all the changes and upgrades. It was apparently tough to implement, but something more HD collections should feature. In addition to updating the graphics, you can now play the game (that redefined first-person shooters forever) cooperatively over the Internet. Competitive multiplayer features were also added too, because let's face it some gamers simply don't care about the story, even if it is Halo. Rounding out all the additions were the now-standard Skulls; collectibles that when activated modify various aspects of the gameplay. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary was Microsoft's first foray into the HD remake market, but they cranked out one of the most unique offerings.
