10 Heavily Rumoured Video Games We Want To See At E3 2019

9. Metroid Prime Trilogy

At the start of 2019, surprising news came out that Nintendo had canned Metroid Prime 4, which had been in development since at least 2017. It was unclear who exactly was heading up development on the game, but rumours suggested Namco Bandai had a role in the project.

Regardless, Nintendo cancelled the game, stating that it was not meeting their internal expectations. The project was then rebooted at Retro Studios, the team that made the original Prime Trilogy. Which is exciting news, but also means Metroid Prime 4 won't see the light of day until 2021 at the absolute earliest.

With that in mind, Nintendo will want to get fans excited about Metroid Prime once again, and the best way to raise awareness of the franchise is to release the original trilogy on the Switch. Of course, there've been dozens of rumours this past year that a trilogy is indeed coming to the system, and E3 2019 seems like the perfect time to reassure fans that 4 is on the way, while reminding them why they fell in love with the series in the first place.

Give Metroid Prime 1-3 a fresh lick of paint and release it on the Nintendo Switch this fall. You can practically smell the money.
