6. Televised Ant - The Last Of Us (2013)

The plot of The Last of Us revolves around the Cordyceps virus, a devastating fungal infection that eventually strips you of your humanity and leaves you as little more than a walking clump of fleshy growths.

According to Naughty Dog, the inspiration for this disease came from the BBC nature documentary, Planet Earth, which features ants being killed and twisted out of shape by a similar type of fungus.

Taking control of Joel's daughter, Sarah, walk down to the last step in the house, then quit the game and reload. Returning to the bedroom after this will result in the TV showing a screenshot of one of these ants from this very documentary.

This image is so elusive that it's implied not even the developers knew about it. Naughty Dog's Kurt Margenau decided to have a little fun with the situation when questioned about it, simply stating, "As the one who scripted this sequence...sounds like a bug tbh".

Okay, we'll let him have that one.
