10 Highest-Rated PS4 Exclusives - Ranked From Worst To Best
4. Nioh - 88
Speaking of action maestros, Team Ninja hadn't been at the top of the pile for years at this point. Content to pump out Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball sequels and segmented, microtransaction-fueled re-releases of DOA's latest instalment, it was refreshing as all hell to see them return to something as accomplished and well thought out as Nioh.
Taking the stupidly hard precedent set by their own Ninja Gaiden, Nioh is also an unforgiving and stupidly tight hack n' slash action RPG in the vein of Dark Souls, but sped up and refined to the point of a mirror sheen.
Though Souls fans in particular will cry that nothing beats the almighty 2011 release, Nioh has a solid rival player-dependent loot system, multiple stances per weapon, customisable attack animations and a gorgeous eastern art direction that truly makes it stand out.
Play Nioh. Just play it. Team Ninja deserve to have this be as well regarded as Ninja Gaiden once was.
