Now under any other circumstance, Death is not something that you'd want to battle on the best of days, as after all, The Grim Reaper has carried more souls to the nether than you've had hot dinners. However, when it comes to Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, it turns out that a simple cooking ingredient is actually this bone boy's downfall.

The battle against isn't exactly a chore to begin with, seeing as Death moves as quickly as erosion and his attacks are pretty easy to dodge. However, by dropping garlic in front of the boss, you can turn the tables on the literal incarnation of death and absolutely have his life by watching him try to move through the item only to damage itself over and over.

It's a rather lengthy process so I'd recommend putting the kettle on, but considering that you can literally overcome death with a garlic bulb, it really does take the wind out of this undead dude's bedsheets.
