10 Hit Video Games That Were Totally Critic-Proof

From a game that was almost unplayable to one that was genuinely unplayable on its launch. SimCity (2013) was a game that required a network connection to play but faulty EA servers meant players couldn't connect when it first released.

Reviews for this game were mixed as a few of them were written before the server issues and those reviews were subsequently downgraded when problems became apparent. Multiple sites held off on reviews of the game until the servers were fixed and they could really play the game.

It was a botch of a launch, but even after the initial server issues were sorted, the reviews still weren't glowing.

Some felt that the small city size was disappointing as it was smaller than what was previously available in older Sim City titles. The previous instalments of the series also included features that were missing in this game such as the ability to create a subway system which was mentioned in some reviews.

In spite of the negative response, the game still sold over two million copies and held a strong player base for a while.
