Aliens: Colonial Marines tends to be regarded as one of the biggest let downs in recent gaming history.

Gameplay shown off prior to its release created an incredible amount of excitement. However, when it launched critics had an endless list of problems with the game.

A common issue that many reviews mentioned was the poor A.I for the Xenomorphs as they constantly ran right at players, meaning that the game lacked the tension seen in the Alien films. There was also a mountain of glitches in the game that made it almost unplayable.

Reviewers did not go easy on the graphics of the game either, as lighting, character animations and textures were all accused of being downgraded from the gameplay shown off before release.

A multitude of problems didn't stop the sci-fi shooter selling over 1.3 million copies, making it one of Sega's best selling games that year.
