10 Horror Video Games That Brutally Punish You

4. House Of Velez

House Of Velez
Dark Room Games

In the most simplest of terms, House of Velez will f** you up.

Released in 2017, this Dark Room Games effort may not feature the most impressive of graphics at play, but it's a game that features some ridiculously brutal punishments for messing up.

House of Velez sees you take control of Lily Velez, the daughter of an archaeologist who returns to the family home in order to find her missing father. Soon finding herself in way over her head, Lily has to deal with uncomfortable truths, shocking revelations and a fight for her life.

The game itself is very much a methodical one based around stealth, puzzles and just generally taking things very slowly, very measuredly, very carefully. But when the game does kick into gear during any and all times Lily gets caught and offed, it's an extremely gruesome fate that awaits her.

Here, Lily can be killed in a ludicrous amount of stomach-churning ways, and there are even certain deaths where he body is further brutalised after she's already clearly dead and done for.
