10 Horror Video Games To Binge Play On Halloween

It seems practically cliché to tell people you love Asian horror films now. Everyone knows movies like The Ring and The Grudge are American remakes of Japanese films that came out years ago... as did Fatal Frame for the PS2, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a try.

The Fatal Frame series is both intrinsically and stylistically Japanese, as well as being genuinely exceptional. In the first game you play as Miku, a school girl (in a skirt that's way too short for ghost hunting) who travels to the abandoned Himuro mansion to look for her brother who's gone missing.

What she finds is a violent mystery involving an evil ritual gone awry, and the ghosts of a bunch of miserable people who died in the process.

And what does the game give you to combat these vengeful, often mutilated specters? Just a spirit camera so you can try to take pictures of them in the first person, of course. Doing so deals damage based on proximity, meaning you literally have to face your fears to progress.

It's a fantastic concept, and a must play for fans of Japanese/Korean horror.
