10 Hotly-Anticipated Xbox One Games Coming In 2016

3. Halo Wars 2

Wait, what? Seriously? As fun as the original Halo Wars was, nobody in their right mind would have ever expected Halo Wars to have ever gotten a sequel. The original managed to secure a warm critical reception, but the sales told a different tale; they were respectable, but nowhere near the level of main series entries that spawned it. Besides, real-time strategy game controls are notoriously difficult to adapt to a controller and are, for the most part, far more accessible with the old mouse & keyboard. But hey, Microsoft have green-lit a sequel despite all of that, and they've even managed to rope-in one of the genre's most experienced developers to make it. The Creative Assembly - a name synonymous with the Total War series - are taking over from Ensemble Studios to create the surprise sequel, and they'll be working directly with 343 Industries to make sure the aesthetics, story and characters match up with the wider lore of the Halo universe. Speaking of which, Halo's cast of characters has expanded massively since 2009, so with any luck, me just might get to see the introduction of a Promethean and Flood faction to sit alongside the UNSC and the Covenant.
