10 Hotly-Anticipated Xbox One Games Coming In 2016

2. Crackdown 3

For a series that essentially rose to fame due to the first game featuring an access code to the Halo 3 beta (that's how long ago it was), those that picked up Crackdown for that very purpose quickly discovered that the game it came packaged with was actually very, very good. But then, was quality ever in question when Grand Theft Auto creator and Realtime Studios founder David Jones was at the helm of the project? Indeed, Crackdown's success is pretty simple when you think about it. Supersoldiers are cool, super powers are cool and ridding a corrupt city of organised crime using said abilities is absurdly fun. Chuck in a physics engine that makes you feel like you're The One in the Matrix and you very quickly find yourself holding a recipe for success. Narrative takes a back-seat in Crackdown, and that's fine - not all games need to have a dramatic hook to pull you in - because these games are all about the sandbox world you find yourself in and what you can do in them to test the limits of the world. Crackdown 2 lost sight of that mantra just slightly, losing some its draw in the process. But the trilogy-maker set to rock your world in 2016 look like a return to form, not least because of its fully-destructible, cloud-based worlds that you and a friend can tear down to your heart's content. Don't worry about all the innocent lives that'll be lost in the chaos - it's not as if you're a good guy or anything.
