10 Iconic Moments That Defined Mass Effect As A Series

6. Mordin's Final Moments

Mordin's death in Mass Effect 3 is a noble and effortlessly badass one with two several motivations; to atone for his past mistakes and to create a brighter, Reaper-free future for everyone. As had a hand in messing with the stubborn, hot-tempered and physically intimidating Krogan's ability to reproduce in the form of the Genophage virus, the guilt of such a heinous act weighing heavily on his shoulders, so the Salarian doesn't hesitate when he sees an opportunity to reverse it. Only the highest of Paragon players had what it took to talk him out of sacrificing himself to make some last-minute adjustments to the Genophage cure, as he needs to clear his conscience after so long, and also in Mordin's own words: "Someone else might have gotten it wrong". If players got to know Mordin and listened to him sing on the Normandy, he'll do just that in his final moments. If not, he does his science stuff and then smiles contently before dying in an explosion. Either way, his death is hard to watch without getting a lump in your throat.

When I'm not playing games, I'm probably either writing about them somewhere or singing stupid songs inspired by them. Or eating pizza.
