10 Iconic Video Game Franchises That Must Come To Current Gen Consoles
3. Spyro The Dragon
Let's just imagine that Skylanders didn't turn Spyro and all he stood for into a giant purple cash grab, and imagine a brighter future instead.
Come on, the poor guy isn't even cute anymore, he looks like he's gone five rounds with a frying pan and lost! What if Spyro was to come to the current gen in a brand new solo adventure?
I honestly think this could go a few ways. We could return to characters roots, reintroducing Spyro as an adorable little sheep-slayer, collecting gems and whatnot. Or perhaps steer the character in a different direction, kind of like what has happened across the various incarnations of The Legend Of Zelda.
A reboot of the franchise was attempted before with 2006's The Legend Of Spyro: A New Beginning (which eventually spawned two sequels) however, for Spyro to earn his way back into the hearts of gamers after the whole Skylanders thing, I think drastic changes will have to be made.
Plus, Spyro needs a good voice actor, or remain a mute. I'm sorry but even as a kid I hated Elijah Wood's take on the character. No offence Frodo, but you're no Smaug.
