10 Iconic Video Game Franchises That Must Come To Current Gen Consoles
2. Simpsons: Hit & Run
Arguably one of the best games of the PS2 era. Radical Entertainment's Simpsons: Hit & Run completely nailed recreating Springfield and everything within it as a open playable world for players wreak havoc in.
Naturally, focusing on the Simpson family, Hit & Run was packed full of references to the TV show's universe, and also contained a number of secondary characters which players could interact with. Can you believe the game dropped in 2003, and still has such an impact on gamers today? That's why I think Hit & Run deserves a comeback.
Players could be gifted with a brand new, hilarious storyline and running on today's tech, and Springfield could look more polished than it ever.
Perhaps developers could include a GTA 5 character switch system in which Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa are all present in the main story at different points, and the plot would include their storylines intertwining throughout.
While on the subject of GTA 5, just like in GTA Online, I can just envision making my own Simpsons character and seeing countless other players tear up the streets in whacky vehicles and outfits. Just thinking about a current gen remake makes me want to go and re-play the original - and I bet there's a whole audience out there waiting for this to happen, too.
Come on Radical, take us back to Springfield, or at least let someone else have a crack at it.
