10 Iconic Video Game Heroes Nobody Admits Are Absolute Dicks

3. Booker DeWitt - Bioshock Infinite

Although the star of Bioshock Infinite, Booker DeWitt, is certainly one of the most tragic heroes in recent years, he's become something of a badass cult icon since the release of the game in 2013.

Between fan art, fan-fiction and just general fandom, the hero of Infinite has been received as one of those broken heroes that people can't help but imagine themselves putting back together.

But let me tell you: that's way more than Booker deserves. While he enjoys something of a redemptive arc during the course of Bioshock Infinite, it's not enough to make us forget that this is the same guy who had to sell his own daughter to a dictator just so he could pay off his crippling gambling debt.

Sure he gets her back eventually by shooting his way through a flying city, but if he had the skills to do that the whole time, he obviously wasn't too averse to selling off his only remaining family in the first place.

And let's not forget that in every other timeline in the Bioshock universe the character goes off the rails, grows out a huge beard and creates an entire floating city full of racists and widespread oppression. Yeah, it's an alternate version of Booker, but it seems pretty in-character for the guy who sold his own daughter for a few measly bucks.
