10 Iconic Video Games That Must Come To PlayStation VR
4. Uncharted
With Tomb Raider indulging in a spot of virtual reality, it feels unfair to leave gaming's other favourite treasure hunter out of the mix. Uncharted would be a great fit for virtual reality if Nate makes the transition to first-person.
How? Easy. Uncharted 4's rope.
Imagine travelling to the many exotic locations found on Nathan Drake's travels, revelling in them in virtual reality only to swing across massive gorges in one deft movement, thanks to the grapple hook. It would be exhilarating, to say the least.
Now, you might think that VR sickness would rear its ugly head if you were flinging yourself across ravines and steep drops but fear not, for another developer is doing something similar already. Psytec Games' Windlands, a PS VR launch title, sees players use a grappling hook to soar across open and stunning vistas - the same technology could easily replicate Uncharted's rope swing.
But even without the rope swing, Uncharted 4 could translate easily into virtual reality. A number of VR games, like Robinson: The Journey and The Climb, already have wall-climbing mechanics, something crucial to Uncharted gameplay. Mix those mechanics in with Uncharted's stunning photo realism and beautiful locations and you've got a winner.
