Batman: Arkham Knight is a divisive game, with one of its most maligned elements being the ending. The epic Rocksteady trilogy concludes with the rather lacklustre Knightfall Protocol, a cutscene showing Bruce Wayne blowing up Wayne Manor - implying that both he and Alfred are gone with it. But, come on, this is Batman, the Caped Crusader, the Dark Knight, there has to be something more to it than that. Surely it doesn't end there?

Well, you'd be right, because there is more to it. The thing is, barely anyone got to see it.

The game's True Ending blasts you with a new twist, revealing that the whole thing was a rouse and that Bruce is still alive, even using Scarecrow's Fear Toxin to become a nightmare version of Batman. The thing is, seeing this ending requires work, a lot of work.

To get there, you need to complete every Most Wanted Mission, capturing every villain. So, you've got to destroy all of the Arkham Knight's militia and, worst of all, find and solve every single Riddler collectable, including trophies, riddles, breakable objects, challenges, and bomb rioters. Yes, it's as exhausting and painstaking as it sounds, which is why very few actually do it, and thus, very few see this final twist.
