10 Incredible Video Game Intros (That Made You Stop Playing The Second Time Around)
4. You'd Rather Play Act 2, Wouldn't You? - Baldur's Gate 3
Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3 is generally considered to be the weakest part of the game due to its inability to finish up a lot of the long-running plot points from the previous acts.
And while this is true, a lot of people realize that Act 1 also isn’t anything to write home about after they finish the game.
Although Baldur’s Gate 3’s first act is one of the best gaming experiences of the last decade, filled with a ton of details and options to explore, after you’ve seen the rest of the game, it feels rather weak.
While all the branching paths and details are still there, the lack of all of the amazing abilities you get on higher levels can really stand out, and so a lot of the first few hours are basically a grind to get your characters more powerful.
The first act also suffers from Act 3’s problem in that, being the beginning of the story, it only just sets up all the plot points and character arcs, meaning that your companions won’t be up to anything interesting until Act 2.
That’s why many players tend to abandon their new playthroughs. They simply can’t be bothered to wait for all the exciting parts to kick in.
