10 Incredible Video Game Sequels & Remakes Made Entirely By Fans
3. Super Smash Bros. Crusade
Creator(s): Dr.MarioX, Phantom7, Falcon8r & Jaklub.
Featuring over sixty characters and twenty-four stages, Super Smash Bros. Crusade is tremendously ambitious, featuring a soundtrack comprised of remixes, original compositions and demos, updated constantly with each subsequent patch of the game.
Fighters range from Mario, Luigi, Samus and Sonic to Goku from Dragonball Z, Crash Bandicoot, Rayman and Shadow the Hedgehog, all of which come complete with their own unique moveset.
The stages are varied and interesting, the characters diverse, the whole experience fairly engaging, despite initially receiving negative reviews from critics who underestimated the game’s scope and design.
In particular, the graphics have been criticised extensively, but honestly, despite their irregularity, they’re completely acceptable, providing it with ample personality to differentiate the game from the series from which it took inspiration.
The game is quite buggy, however. Nothing too serious, but enough to distract competitive players. Initially, the game was lambasted for failing to support four-players at once, which has since been corrected.
The latest version of the game is a seriously good time, for those willing to give it a try.
