Day in the Limelight – based on the classic platformer, Mega Man – removes the hero from the equation altogether, instead emphasising the many villains of the series. To such end, the game permits players the opportunity of tackling their favourite stages as the bosses themselves – from Bomb Man to Elec Man – utilising their abilities to defeat enemies, overcomes obstacles and clear over twenty unique stages inspired by the original game.

The variety of playable characters means every stage as multiple solutions, each dependent entirely on which villain you’ve chosen to play. At the end of each stage, players face off against a host of bosses, most of which borrowed from later instalments, including Airman from Mega Man 2. Despite this, the game works perfectly, every element gelling perfectly to create a seamless Mega Man experience.

It was so popular upon release that two sequels have since been released, each being well-received. The game is complete, and can be downloaded right away for absolutely nothing.
