10 Incredible Video Games That Were Awful At Launch

2. Street Fighter V

No Mans Sky Next
Capcom

No matter the state that Street Fighter V found itself in on day one, Capcom could at least pride itself on shipping a fighter that, like those before it, boasted some of the most mechanically-rich and visually delectable gameplay in a fighting game to date.

However, in funnelling all of its cash into those two facets, Capcom seemingly forgot that funds needed allocating to other parts of the brawler and in doing so, shipped a title that presented itself as unfinished, rushed and, quite simply, half-baked.

A slim character roster (no secret unlockables à la Street Fighter IV's Gouken and Akuma, either), unstable online servers and a near-total lack of single-player content crushed any prior excitement of a further entry in the illustrious franchise, the negative reception to its feature-starved menu screen translating to the inevitable - poor sales.

That was two years ago. Since that disastrous beginning, Capcom has accepted its failures and pumped out new content on the regular, ranging from the free, if rather throwaway, cinematic story mode to extensive balance patches, paid characters and a handful of new modes including, of course, Arcade Mode.
