3. Panzer Dragoon Saga
The Saturn may have been branded a failure, but that doesn't change the fact the Sega console had an impressive catalogue, most notably the Panzer Dragoon series.
Though the first three entries received consistency positive reviews, Panzer Dragoon Saga is considered the crown jewel. The threequel did away with the rail shooting aspect and instead, implemented explorative gameplay, turn-based battles, and random encounters, offering a level of freedom and strategy unprecedented for the franchise at the time.
Although the original was ported to multiple systems, Saga (and every other entry for that matter) was only available on a single console.
When it was announced the first instalment was being remade in 2020, the nostalgia for Panzer Dragoon came surging back. If this do-over turned out well, Saga could receive the same treatment.
Sadly, Panzer Dragoon Remake was an unmitigated disaster, due to its brevity and lack of innovation. Although the controls were given a modern update, they somehow felt more dated than the original.
Not only was this a huge blow for the cherished brand, the chances of Dragoon Panzer Saga returning is less likely than ever.
