10 Infuriating Video Game Moments That Made You Rage Quit
8. Dark Souls - Dying AGAIN Before Picking Up Your Souls
Whether you're a staunch fan of the series or someone who's tried it out for a couple of hours before deciding that it's all a bit much, most of you are probably familiar with the ruthless death system in Dark Souls. If you die, then all the souls (XP) you had on your person at the time remain at the spot where you died. If you die again when going back to collect them, then all those precious souls disappear forever. And it's in this way, that many a rage quit was caused. Dark Souls attaches a huge weightiness and sense of consequence to dying. That constant feeling that death matters is one hell of a rush, but when the infamous double-death befalls you, and you realise that hours of game-time has just gone to waste, most people will fly into a tantrum and switch the console off in pure outrage (sadly, that won't help you get your souls back). But the allure of the game is strong, and you'll come crawling back after a couple of hours. Most importantly, Dark Souls encourages you to learn from your mistakes, and you can hold your head high knowing that your rage-inducing death has made you that little bit wiser for your next time round.
