10 Infuriating Video Game Moments That Made You Rage Quit
7. Rocket League - Throwing Away A Good Lead
You're 3-0 up in a Ranked Rocket League match with just one-and-a-half minutes to go. If this was football, then your victory would basically be guaranteed. But this ain't football, and that 3-0 scoreline is deceptive. You get complacent and try an audacious aerial lunge for the ball that misses, causing the opponents to capitalise and make it 3-1. Ah well, only a minute to go. Then, straight from the kick-off, a fortuitous ricochet causes the ball to bounce off the wall and straight into your goal, bringing things up to 3-2; you swear under your breath as your palms suddenly get sweaty. Your opponents have the momentum now, and they launch a vicious all-out attack that causes confusion in your defence to make it 3-3. You lose yourself, start berating your teammates who are also berating you and each other, hurling sarcastic 'What a Save' auto-phrases everywhere, and everything starts falling apart. 'At least there's still extra time', you think to yourself, as you charge in for the kick-off with just one second to go in the match. But... hang on. You didn't decide on who stays in goal for the kick-off, leaving it completely open. Another lucky bounce from the kick-off, and the score is 4-3 to them. You don't react for a second while the reality soaks in, before you start shouting at the screen, cursing yourself, and holding your controller in one hand while punching it with the other.
