10 Infuriating Video Game Moments That Made You Rage Quit
3. Punch-Out - Getting Knocked Out By Mike Tyson. AGAIN.
However tough or easy a game maybe, it should always feature a reasonable difficulty curve, where the challenge increases at a similar rate to your growing skill with the game. Classic Nintendo brawler Punch-Out had this tangent pretty well figured out, right up until the final boss - none other than Mike Tyson - ruined everything. Perhaps it's fitting that one of the most vicious boxers in the history of the sport and the 'Baddest Man on the Planet' is nigh-on unbeatable, but the fact that he knocks you down with a single punch and has much higher health than anyone else in the game will soon leave you feeling victimised. What makes things worse is that you've done so well to get to that point, and until then you probably felt like your increasing skill at the game was getting sufficiently rewarded with deserved results. But after ten attempts at Tyson and hitting the canvas about 30 times from that brutal uppercut, you'd feel like pulling your cartridge out of your NES, throwing it into the air, then smashing it out of the sky with a big punch of your own to see how it likes getting knocked out in one punch.
