6. Final Fantasy VIII: Squall Is Dead
Once again one of the biggest franchises in gaming history is caught up in a conspiracy theory. this one revolving around Final Fantasy, arguably the most famous RPG gaming series ever. As well as numerous re-releases, spin offs, and sequels, including Final Fantasy VIII, the eighth instalment of the Final Fantasy series. The protagonist of this episode in the Final Fantasy series is Squall Leonhart, an abrasive orphan, who is viewed as being cold and uncaring but also focussed and professional. As we follow the story, Squall graduating to becoming a member of the mercenary SeeD group, and is hired by Rinoa Heartilly, to fight against the sorceress Edea, who is joined by Squall's rival Seifer whom he and Rinoa believed to be dead. After confronting the sorceress Edea, she casts an Ice Magic spell, seen piercing Squall's shoulder blade and causing him topple off the platform, Squalls eyes close and the screen fades to black. The next thing we know is that Squall wakes up in a desert prison, without any wound from the incident. According to the theory, Squall didn't survive the confrontation, and the rest of the game is played out as either Squall's comatose dream, or his life replayed before his eyes played in real time.
