10 Insane Video Game Details You Definitely Missed
7. The Title Screen Secretly Spells Out The Word "Lie"- L.A. Noire
L.A. Noire is a game all about deception, as the player is tasked with investigating a series of violent crimes while studying suspects' faces for "tells" about their true nature.
But perhaps the biggest sleight-of-hand lies not with one of the many suspects you'll interrogate or chase down during the game's story mode, but L.A. Noire's start menu itself.
The main menu is elegantly simple: a neon sign bearing the game's logo, with the lettering periodically flickering off. But eagle-eyed players might've noticed that only certain letters ever actually flicker: in fact, only A, N, O, and R.
This leaves behind L, I, and E, spelling out "lie," which beyond being a central theme of the game, is also one of the three interrogation abilities in the original release of the game.
When you believe a perp is lying and can prove it, you select the "Lie" option, though to avoid confusion, it was renamed to "Accuse" in the recent remaster.
