10 Insane Video Game Details You Definitely Missed

8. Getting Drunk Makes Enemy Levels Appear Lower Than They Are - World Of Warcraft

With the recent release of World of Warcraft Classic, many WoW fans have been enjoying a nostalgic trip down memory lane by revisiting the original version of the legendary MMORPG, and have in turn remembered some long-forgotten details about the game.

It's no secret that World of Warcraft allows players to get digitally smashed at any of the Inns scattered around Azeroth, and among the many side effects of over-indulging, the screen will go blurry, you'll run in the wrong direction to your actual inputs, and your chat comments will even become less intelligible.

But there's one hilarious affectation you might've forgotten - that enemy mobs and other players may also have their listed levels drop up to five levels lower than is reality.

The intent is to encourage players to get involved in combat scenarios they're not actually prepared for, imitating the feeling of brash over-confidence that comes with imbibing too much.

It's brilliant, really, but easily forgotten given how far modern WoW has moved beyond its original form.
