10 Insanely Underrated Wrestling Video Games You Must Play

8. Fire Pro Wrestling Returns (2007) - PS2

Any gamer who's also a big wrestling fan is sure to of heard of Fire Pro Wrestling. Although, in the eyes of casuals, who favour realistic simulations of the 2K games, they've most likely never heard of it.

Fire Pro Wrestling Returns was the final Fire Pro game released on the PS2. Developed by Spike, the game distinguished itself from other wrestling games by focusing on strategy, rather than the supposed button-mashing of others. Offering a gigantic roster of 327 wrestlers from real-life companies, the ability to create your own wrestlers was also available, along with rings, belts, promotions and even referees.

Game modes included traditional matches, cage matches and even an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch! Match Maker was another mode where players were in charge of booking shows and attempting to get a good grade from it, based on the crowd reactions.

Fire Pro has always had a reputation for having the technical depth that the WWE games do not, and this one is no exception. A fun, colourful wrestling game for the hardcore wrestling fan.
