5. Cards You Don't Need - Queen Of Cards (Final Fantasy VIII)
Hey, remember when the Final Fantasy games REALLY wanted you to play their card games? Because forget battling evil or saving the world, your attention needs to be focused on a children's card game!
Throughout Final Fantasy 8's story, you're often called to play a technically optional Yu-Gi-Oh ripoff called Triple Triad. Like everything else in Final Fantasy 8, it's slow, monotonous, kinda annoying, and leaves you wondering why you're doing this to yourself and what kind of loving benevolent god would let such a thing happen.
But worst of all are the games against the Queen Of Cards.
Obviously, if you're dedicating yourself to this game, you'll want to take on the king, or in this case Queen, of games. Taking her on requires you to have some top notch cards and strategies, and sorry, but you can't say "screw the rules, I have money", because you have to win cards from other players or monsters.
Beating her once isn't enough, when you do, she just gives you a rare card as a gift and disappears. That's right - even when you finally beat her for real, all you get are more cards for a game you're already the top dog of.
Jokes on you, binky boy.
