10 Intense Video Game Achievements Worth NOTHING

1. Better Luck Next Time - Split/Second

call of duty world at war
Disney Interactive

If you've never played Split/Second, then I truly urge you to give it a go, as I'm genuinely surprised this title didn't get much more love when it dropped back in 2010. The sheer speed and adrenaline that baked into every race was something unlike anything else going at the time, and the ability to shape the racecourse around you by triggering events and manipulating objects was utterly brilliant.

What this made was an experience that was one part Burnout and one part Whacky Races, where planes, buildings, and entire sections of the map could explode or shift at a moment's notice, altering the race for you and your opponents. Through clever manipulation, you could even take down other races by luring them into traps or topple buildings onto them and bury them entirely.

However it worked both ways, hence the Better Luck Next Time achievement which triggered if you attempted to use a shortcut created by an opponent but crashed while doing so. After all theirs no prizes for second place, and no g's for those who can't finish the race.
