10 Last Minutes Changes Made In The Legend Of Zelda Series
1. Twilight Princess Was Flipped At The Last Second
Twilight Princess was released for the Gamecube and the Wii in 2006. Since the Wii's selling point was its motion-controls, Nintendo thought Twilight Princess was the perfect game to showcase the console's potential. The Wii version was the first game in the series where the player could utilise the motion-mechanics of the controller to wield Link's sword. This was very satisfying since it made the player feel like they were handling the blade just as much as Link.
However, there was one tiny problem. The Wii controller is designed to be held in the right hand. Link was programmed to be left-handed. The developers worried that swinging the controller with the right arm to make Link swing his left arm would confuse the player. To correct this, the developers had no choice but to reverse THE ENTIRE GAME! Although this could have created game-crashing glitches, this decision caused no side-effects and the game was praised for its fluid controls as well as its gameplay.
Because this didn't pose a problem for the Gamecube port, that version of Twilight Princess has the original unflipped layout.
