2. Climbing Ganon's Body In Ocarina Of Time

The build up for the final confrontation with Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time is epic. When the final boss is seemingly defeated, Link and Zelda rush out of the castle just before it collapses. As the pair escape, Ganondorf bursts out of the rubble and transmogrifies into his true form, Ganon, for one last battle.

Despite how much this showdown is hyped, the fight itself is incredibly simple. All you have to do is slash Ganon's tail a couple of times and he's beaten. In fact, there is probably less strategy in this scrap than any other boss. Considering Ganon is the self-proclaimed King of Evil, the confrontation seems a tad anti-climatic. So what gives? Why didn't the developers create a more elaborate strategy to defeat him.

Well, that's the problem; they did. Link was supposed to climb Ganon's body and hack him to pieces, an idea that was popularised in Shadow of the Colossus. Unfortunately, the team couldn't figure out how to animate Link climbing Ganon without the characters glitching. It's a cool idea but the developers couldn't make it work and so, had to scrap it.
