10 Legendary Games Nintendo Must Bring To Mobile Phones
5. F-Zero
Racing games are another genre that has begun to flourish on mobile platforms as smartphone technology has become more advanced. Nintendo could bring the series high-octane thrills to the smaller screen, perhaps by producing a port of the GBA title F-Zero: GP Legend, optimised for touch-screen controls. However, if Nintendo wants to compete with existing smartphone racing games, high quality graphics may be needed. The likes of Real Racing 3, developed by Firemonkeys Studios for iOS, Android and Blackberry, has shown that smartphones are more than capable of handling fast-paced gameplay without a reduction in graphical quality. Nintendo could also use the accelerometer built into most modern smartphones to aid the controls of the vehicles, providing an extra layer of engagement for mobile gamers and there are also plenty of characters to unlock from the F-Zero franchise, so the game would be an effective way of encouraging micro-transactions. The only problem for Nintendo, is if they released a 3D F-Zero game for smartphones it would only increase the demand for a full console release, as the series has been on hiatus since 2004.
