10 Major Video Game Sequels Coming In 2021
5. Resident Evil 8: Village
When Resident Evil 6 was unable to connect with its audience, Capcom reinvented the franchise with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Adapting a first-person view and returning to the roots of survival horror, RE7 was truly an incredible return to form; and that is set to continue with the upcoming Resident Evil Village.
The 8th mainline entry in the series, Village, is set a few years after Biohazard. The central character, Ethan, returns as a playable protagonist. His world is set to come falling down once Chris Redfield appears, an unforeseen yet familiar face, causing a chain reaction of events that sees a confused Ethan searching for answers to Chris' disturbing decisions, and finally finding him in a mysterious village in Europe.
Very little is known about the game at the time of this article, but we do know that Biohazard's gameplay elements will come back and be expanded on, including new weapons, monsters, and a new setting; the setting is the main element. Capcom finds the titular Village to be just as important a character as any other person in the game.
Set to launch in 2021 for next-gen consoles, we cannot wait to dive back into the dominant horror franchise.
