10 Mandatory Video Games Every Xbox One Owner Needs
6. Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Technically, Advanced Warfare might not be the first Call of Duty to arrive on Xbox One (Ghosts beat it by a year) but it definitely feels like it. With improvements to movement and a new futuristic setting, Sledgehammer Games' first solo venture with the Call of Duty franchise is a bold but refreshing step - this feels fresh, new and exciting. Recruiting an Oscar-winning actor to front your campaign is a good start (especially when that is Kevin Spacey) but Advanced Warfare's tale of futuristic war and corruption is an exciting thrill-ride which deserves attention regardless of who was cast to feature in it. Call of Duty's campaigns are often dismissed by the masses but here, Sledgehammer are showing just how good they can be - it's an action-packed blockbuster with a pretty intelligent core. Of course, the multiplayer will always be the main course and with the new Exoskeleton, it's especially satisfying. Boosting, dodging and diving around the game's maps is a neat way to refresh the Call of Duty formula without completely reinventing it, and there's enough futuristic weaponry and technology to thrill the long-term fans. Sledgehammer deserve the plaudits for reinvigorating the series and fans are already looking forward to their next instalment.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
