10 Marvel Characters Who Deserve Their Own Video Game
3. Thor
Who wouldn't want to play a game where you play as the literal God of Thunder?
Ignoring the sub-par Thor tie in game from 2011, it's actually quite surprising that Thor hasn't been given a game on the same scale as some of the old Incredible Hulk games. Whenever Thor has appeared in other Marvel games, such as the Marvel Ultimate Alliance titles, he has to be nerfed to make sure he doesn't overpower all the other characters. It seems like the new Avengers game will be taking a similar approach.
Which sucks, because it would be amazing to play a game that actually let you wield the power of a god. While there should be parts of the hypothetical game set on Earth, ignoring the other eight realms would be a huge missed opportunity. There's so much diversity in the settings there that would make for some fantastic level designs.
Just imagine God of War crossed with Bayonetta, playing as a furious god who can decimate entire armies in just a few minutes. Populate the game with other gods, monsters and famous villains who put up more of a fair fight and you've got some great blueprints for a video game.
Hell, you could even make Beta Ray Bill or Jane Foster a playable character just for some added variety.
