10 Massively Misleading Trailers NOTHING Like The Final Game
6. Crackdown 3
Crackdown 3 is yet another example of what happens when you take years to release a game and can’t match up to the hype that’s naturally escalated over that time.
Even if you don’t know anything about the Crackdown series, you probably remember the Crackdown 3 trailers featuring Terry Crews who absolutely gave us the impression someone stole his yoghurt. The trailers made it look like chaotic, bombastic fun for the new generation but what gamers got was just more of the same old same old Crackdown.
Now, that’s fine if that’s all you were after but there wasn’t anything that set this game apart like the trailer suggested. One of the big selling points was the 2015 trailer’s claim that there’d be one hundred percent destructible environments. This didn’t happen at all. It was supposed to be implemented in a competitive multiplayer mode which, even then, wouldn’t let you destroy everything, but that was quickly abandoned too.
The 2015 trailer said that Crackdown 3 would be delivering the classic gameplay in a brand new way. Well, at least they were half right.
