10 Massively Underrated Video Games Based On Movies

2. The Thing

Movie Video Games
Computer Artworks

The Thing was an icy blast of knuckle-tensing, shock horror that stands tall as one of the best sci-fi movies of all time, plus, there was Kurt Russell's beard to deal with - magnificent. The film was so good that not even its director, John Carpenter, never dared to dream a sequel up.

That all changed in 2002 when relative novices, Black Label Games, deployed this sequel-of-sorts to the movie. This third-person creepfest has all the hallmarks of a Resident Evil or Silent Hill game - Outpost 31 is your spooky locale and baddies come in the form of those gruesome body bastardisations from the movie - but has unique elements added such as the ability to work in a team and, better still, a workable trust system that pretty much dicatates whether your comrades will fix that fusebox for you or point a gun at your head.

Ahead of its time and still great to play, The Thing should be your thing.
