1. The Scrawled Journal - Until Dawn
Until Dawn, like most Supermassive games, allows you to save all eight of its playable protagonists.
However, in order to do so, you need to find a small hidden item that most people can easily miss.
The item in question is the scrawled journal, which you can find in the mines section of the game. It is the final clue in the mystery in the Twins Clueline that explains what happened to the two sisters that die in the beginning of the game.
Aside from playing part in a greater mystery, the journal has another secret functionality in that finding it determines whether Josh survives the events of the night.
If you find the journal, the wendigo will recognize him and spare him, whereas if you miss it, he will be killed on the spot.
For this reason, if you want to save Josh, you best keep your eyes peeled for the journal in the mines. Although this said, be warned that keeping Josh alive isn’t necessarily the best fate for him, as this will lead to him turning into a wendigo himself.
At least they tried giving him a better ending in the remaster. Emphasis on “trying.”
