10 More Infuriating Video Game Levels You Forgot You Hated
2. The Jet Ski Sections - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
The Uncharted franchise sure has come a long way from the fun-but-flawed original 2007 game, whose worst sin was including two monumentally awful set-pieces in which players had to pilot a damn jet ski.
That may sound fun on paper, but when the jet ski handles like a badger wading through treacle, and you've also got to fend off trigger-happy enemies and insta-kill explosive barrels, it quickly becomes a waking nightmare.
The second of the two levels is especially tricky because you need to navigate a series of treacherous rapids all while shooting barrels to clear your path and keeping clear of enemy gunfire.
These sequences don't last long, but you're basically guaranteed to die again and again before clearing them - particularly the second one.
In a series that's reputed today for its first-rate action gameplay, the jet skis were an undeniably early stumble that nobody ever wanted to see again. Good riddance.
