Supermassive Games

Taking influence from horror titles in the film industry like Poltergeist and Evil Dead II and classic gaming titles such as Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Heavy Rain, Until Dawn is about as close to an interactive slasher flick anyone can play through. Starring the likes of Rami Malek and Hayden Panettiere, the game revolves around a group of eight being terrorised by feral creatures known as Wendigos.

As the name would suggest, the ultimate goal for this eight is to survive through to the morning.

Perhaps the most far-reaching interactive title ever made, Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick's story took up 10,000 pages and features hundreds of choices that can all drastically impact which characters successfully make it out alive come the end of the game.

This butterfly effect can even extend to players having to choose which characters they send to the chopping block.

In fact, it is possible for every single one of these eight characters to be killed by the time the screen fades to black at the end. Like with Heavy Rain, deaths are permanent in Until Dawn, with the story continuing on, regardless of whether players wanted any of these characters deceased or not.
