10 Most Anticipated Nintendo Switch Exclusives Of 2019

4. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered

Final Fantasy: Spirits Within was a catastrophic misfire in planning and execution, but its failure led to another's success. Unable to develop Final Fantasy titles for Nintendo due to an exclusivity deal with Sony, Square exploited a corporate loophole by forming a shell company - The Game Designers Studio - to get Crystal Chronicles made for the GameCube, ultimately resulting in one of the console's best RPGs.

The original release in 2004 was deducted points for gating multiplayer behind hefty hardware requirements and for straying too far from the traditional Final Fantasy formula, but in light of everything else it nailed, forgiveness was awarded the spin-off in spades, not least for its fantastic musical score, combat and sense of exploration.

Fast-forward 15 years and here we are again, eagerly awaiting the game that helped Square claw itself out of a financial black hole, only this time, co-op won't require each participant to hook up a Game Boy Advance to join in on the fun. With new content in the form of additional areas and expanded dungeons being layered on top, Switch owners have a delightful Final Fantasy themed treat besides VII's Remake to look forward to in 2019.
