Let the controversy begin, does the Xbox 360 belong on a list beside some of the others mentioned here? After all, Microsoft's second crack at becoming a top name in the gaming console world was often a technical failure, more prone to meltdown than magical moments. The infamous 'Red Rings Of Death' error which blighted the console's early reputation aside, the 360 was made special by the way Bill Gates and company handled the situation, and by leading the way in online gaming. The Xbox 360 was the system of choice for those who enjoyed playing alongside friends online - the award-winning Xbox Live, love or loathe what online gaming has become, forged the path for what could be achieved in gaming over the internet. It's a bold statement, but the 360 is a far better piece of kit than the Xbox One, which comes pre-packaged with such a sterile presence. At least for a while, Microsoft got it right, and that is reflected in the amount of gamers holding onto their 360, sitting it alongside their Xbox One or PS4. Worth revisiting. Best games: Halo 3, Gears Of War, Forza Motorsport 3, GTA V, FIFA '12, Call Of Duty - Modern Warfare.
